The group, Engage Cuba Coalition, announced the launch of Kansas and Missouri State Councils of Agriculture to help build support for congressional action to lift the travel and trade embargo to Cuba. The Kansas council members, comprised of agriculture and business leaders from across Kansas, will build statewide support for Congressional action to end the travel and trade ban on Cuba.
We spoke with Doug Keesling, a wheat farmer from Chase, Kansas, who serves as State Chair for the U.S. Agriculture Coalition for Cuba, a group that works with Engage Cuba. He was one of the Kansas wheat producers who spoke at Monday’s press conference in Olathe, Kansas.
