Our guest on the Ag Issues program was Will Coggin, research director with the Center for Consumer Freedom.  Coggin’s group filed a formal complaint last week with e IRS alleging a scheme by which the Humane Society of the United States is using tax-exempt charitable funds to promote the Global Animal Partnership and Whole Food’s business interests.  GAP certifies meat products that are sold at Whole Foods and was founded with Whole Foods seed money.  HSUS is threatening brand attacks on food providers unless they agree to buy GAP certified chicken.
