Colin Woodall, Vice President of Government Affairs, with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association joined us on Friday’s Ag Issues program. The main focus of discussion was on trade and market access. Woodall talked about Friday’s talks between the United States and South Korea on the KORUS trade agreement that are taking place in Washington DC. He also talked about what they’re hearing from White House officials with regards to agriculture and the trade talks taking place. The 2nd half of the program, Woodall focused on the latest round on NAFTA talks that will take place later this month in Montreal. He also commented on not having a Chief Agricultural Negotiator in place for the talks. Woodall also says they feel more optimistic that the United States will not pull out of the NAFTA agreement.
